This is version 3 of my art site and I've been working really hard on it (trying to make it as un-crappy looking as I possibly can.) I hope it turned out okay *frets* There's still a lot I have to do for it! Anyway, enough of my babbling, let me start talking about what this site really is...
A long time ago, back around 1991-1992 or so, I decided I couldn't draw people at all. I sucked, and yeah, it wasn't just that I couldn't draw people, I didn't like or have any desire to draw people. (I only really wanted to draw animals.) I knew that wasn't a good way to think and that I was only holding myself back by not even attempting to broaden myself ...So, when I was something like 13, I made up my mind to really give it a shot; but I knew that I would need something to keep me interested. I came up with the idea of creating two characters, a boy and a girl, and I while I practiced drawing them I would come up with a story. Problem solved! I would have a male and female form to draw, I would be interested in doing it, and it would be easier for me to think up facial expressions and poses if I had situations to put them in. Now... What was I going to start with? I loved the RPG's I was playing, I loved the mythology I was reading, and I loved the animation I was watching, so I based everything I did around that. Here's the result, and I simply call it "One Land." It's nothing that amazing, grand,or spectacular -but I love it and since people keep telling me I should share it, I was talked into posting stuff- finally
Er.. and don't really be expecting anything out of the ordinary either, I like the classical and I doubt that's going to change. I've never tried to rely on gimmicks, I don't care if an idea has been done, after all, every idea someone "thinks" is new already been done in a Greek play anyway. "Take what's good and try to work with it," has always been an idea I liked. Did I do a good job of that? I doubt it, but I'm saying all this because if you don't like the typical fairytale, I suggest you head on out now because I know for sure you'll be disappointed and I don't really feel the need to hear pointless complaints. The internet is too full of them as it is, isn't it?
This layout was made from one of my photoshop based illustrations, then heavily edited in photoshop, and mostly coded with GoLive. I later started using Dreamweaver to fix the problems GoLive created. -it's such a shit program, but there are some things that are easier to do in it.
